    Use a BMW factory scan tool or equivalent to read and clear fault codes while ensuring the ignition switch is in the OFF position. As specified in the fuel injection section, remove the air cleaner housing. Remove the fastener and separate the ATF cooler from the Fan Shroud for automatic transmission. To remove the electrical connector, unlock the catch and release fastener. Then feed the Fan Shroud upwards out of the engine compartment. Finally, check that the Fan Shroud and holder are properly fitted.
