Remove the door lock cylinder; when removing the passenger-side handle, use the same removal procedure to remove the door handle cover, then slide the door handle toward the rear of the car and outward to remove the door handle and lock cylinder assembly. When installing, align the barrels at the handle end so they fit behind the clip inside the door; this requires pushing the clip out from behind if the door panel is removed or pulling the clip forward from the front with a thin hooked tool while guiding the barrels behind the clip. The clip has outer retaining prongs and a middle prong. With the door panel removed, insert a screwdriver through the access hole to push the clip forward while guiding the barrels; with the panel installed, use a thin hooked tool to pull the clip forward, taking care not to mar the paint. Ensure the barrels are correctly positioned behind the clip prongs and, if equipped with the lighting package, that the LED assembly is correctly clipped onto the rubber gasket. The handle will sit flush once the lock cylinder is installed; replace damaged door handle gaskets, clear the comfort access fault memory, and check handle function.
