    Q:
How to remove and install the rear Sway Bar Kit on a BMW 328i? Posted by Customer
    A:
Remove both rear coil springs. Remove the control arm from the left-hand side and both traction struts. Remove the nuts and detach both sway bar kit links from the sway bar kit. Lower the rear subframe slightly to enable the sway bar kit to be removed. Remove the rear exhaust section mounts and heat shield. Disconnect the wiring for the rear ABS sensors and brake pad wear sensors at the junction on the rear subframe. Remove the bolts from the braces at each side securing the front of the subframe to the vehicle body. Use clamps on the rear brake flexible hoses, then disconnect the hoses from the rigid pipes. Support the rear subframe with a floor jack and suitable sections of wood. Loosen the subframe mounting bolts and lower the subframe as much as possible without placing any strain on the brake hoses. Make alignment marks between the mount bushings and sway bar kit, then loosen the sway bar kit mounting clamp retaining bolts. Remove both clamps from the subframe and maneuver the sway bar kit out from underneath the vehicle. Remove the mount bushings from the bar. Carefully examine the sway bar kit components for signs of wear, damage or deterioration, paying particular attention to the mount bushings. Replace any worn components as necessary. Installation: Install the rubber mount bushings to the sway bar kit, aligning them with the marks made prior to removal. Raise the sway bar kit and maneuver it into position. Install the mounting clamps and the bolts. Ensure that the bushing markings are still aligned with the marks on the bars, then securely tighten the mounting clamp retaining bolts. Installation is the reverse of removal noting the following points: Replace all self-locking nuts. The traction strut and control arm bolts/ nuts should only be tightened when the rear suspension has been raised with a floor jack to simulate normal ride height. Tighten all fasteners to their specified torque where given. Reconnect the brake hoses and bleed the hydraulic system. Have the rear wheel alignment checked at the earliest opportunity.

    Q:
How to remove and replace the rear Sway Bar Kit on a BMW 335i? Posted by Customer
    A:
Raise the vehicle and safely support it. Mark the Sway Bar Kit on the left side for ease of assembly. Remove both coil springs, then take out the left side control arm. Next, remove the sway bar links. Lower the rear subframe and then remove the sway bar support bracket fasteners on each side to take out the Sway Bar Kit. Check the rubber mounts and replace them if necessary. Installation is the reverse of removal, using the previously made mark for reassembly.
