With the engine fully cooled off, remove the viscous clutch cooling fan, engine accessory belts, and crankshaft vibration damper and pulley, ensuring to mark the belts with their direction of rotation. Install the crankshaft protector cap using the special tool on the end of the crankshaft. Use the seal removal tool to make firm contact with the seal and tighten the center screw to draw out the seal. Coat the new seal with oil and use the special tool along with the crankshaft center bolt to draw the seal in flush with the timing case cover. Reinstall the crankshaft vibration damper using a new bolt, tightening it in four stages, and ensure proper alignment with the locating dowel pin in the hub. Complete the installation by reversing the removal process, including the installation of engine accessory belts and the cooling fan.
