  • Q: How to test the fuel pump electrical circuit if the fuel pump does not operate or there is no fuel pressure on 2011 BMW 335i?
    A: If the fuel pump does not operate or there is no fuel pressure, then to check the fuel pump relay disconnect the fuel pump and sender circuit by removing the rear seat. Unplug the harness connector for the fuel pump and fuel level sender and shift the voltmeter between the fuel pump leads on the connector. Crank the engine and with a digital multi meter touch the negative probe of the multi meter to the ground and the positive probe of the multi meter to the fuel pump connector leads. If an individual gets a voltage and ground, then the fuel pump could be the problem; if the no voltage is sensed, one should check the wiring of the fuel pump and the fuel pump module. Upon having done the tests, the fuel pump harness connector should be reconnected.
