The functionality of the BMW 328i Pressure Plate is to allow the engine to smoothly transfer power to the wheels by squeezing the clutch disc tightly against the flywheel. The Pressure Plate is an essential part of the manual transmission clutch pack, delivering consistent, firm pressure to the clutch assembly until the driver depresses the pedal to relieve pressure to allow gear changing without grinding.
