Remove the rear drive axle and the wheel hub from the bearing assembly using BMW special tools 332116/33 4 200 and 5 wheel bolts, noting that the wheel bearing will be destroyed when the hub is removed. Replace the wheel bearing, lightly oil the drive axle spline teeth, and insert the drive axle into the wheel hub. Screw BMW special tool 332 2 05 into the drive axle, ensuring not to oil the axle or collar nut threads. Depending on the axle bearing outside diameter, BMW special tools 332 118 or 332 119 may be substituted. Align the subframe jack assembly and raise the jack until the subframe is supported, then remove the rear subframe fasteners and front subframe/tension strut fasteners. To install, jack the subframe into position, install the tension struts in their original position, and tighten the subframe mounting bolts.
