How to raise the vehicle and disconnect the Ride Height Sensor on the BMW X5?

Lift the vehicle off the ground and make sure it will stay that way during the work. Remove the screw and remove the electrical connector at the Ride Height Sensor. Both nuts that are connected to the Ride Height control rod on the sensor side and nuts that link the Ride Height Sensor/bracket to the chassis must be unscrewed. For installation look for the process in the opposite way, and make sure that the hole in the bracket aligns with the centering pin. Ensure that the Ride Height Sensor does not touch any of the chassis parts, fine-tuning the Ride Height bracket if required. Last but not least is to verify the headlight adjustment and do the Ride Height calibration.
