BMW 51237239239 Rear Bowden Cable

To remove the cable, start with the hood release cable in three sections. Remove the driver's knee bolster panel, the hood release handle and kick panel, and the release lever assembly from the A-pillar. Remove the upper section of the cabin air filter housing and release the left and right plastic covers from behind the strut tower. Depress the clips and pull the cable guide forwards from the cabin air filter lower housing. Remove the cabin air filter lower housing and the water channel on the right-hand side. Push/pull the outer release cable grommet from the engine compartment firewall and unclip the connection housing from the inner fender. Pry open the connection housing and disconnect the inner and outer cables.
