    To begin the process of overhauling the driveaxle, start by removing the driveaxle. Clean it and mount it securely in a vise. Release the two inner joint boot-retaining clips to free the boot and dust cover. If you're working on E-series models, pry off the sealing cover from the end of the inner CV joint. Scoop out excess grease and, for E-series models, remove the inner joint snap-ring from the end of the driveshaft.
