    Q:
How to remove and extract Fuel Injectors and high-pressure fuel lines from the cylinder head for N20 and N26 engines on BMW 428i? Posted by Customer
    A:
In the cargo compartment, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery, ensuring to read the battery disconnection cautions first. Detach the engine cover, take off the acoustic cover underneath, and then the center heater bulkhead. Remove the ignition coil for the cylinder being serviced, ensuring that there is no contamination from fuel or oil that could impact the electrical resistance of the ignition coil. After every disassembly the high-pressure fuel line must not be reused. Detach the cable clip by removing the fasteners at the rear of the cylinder head, and slide the clip away from the engine. Remove the nuts securing the pressure line, release it from the bracket clamp, and disconnect the fuel line at the injectors. This involves unlocking the connectors and loosening the affixing bolts until the fuel rail is free. In order to prevent contamination from causing malfunctions in the oil and fuel systems, maintain a clean work area. Cap all open ends of the systems as instructed. If the fuel line under high pressure has been tightened on ten occasions, replace it. In order to take out the injectors, turn the fuel rail upward. If multiple injectors are removed, ensure that each injector is reinstalled in its original location. Also, cap the injectors and the fuel rail connections. To begin with, unlock and remove the electrical connector from each injector. Next, use the appropriate tool to remove the fastener and ground wire. Step three is to remove the hold-down bracket and injectors in the specified order. When an injector is stuck, install the special tool, thread screws in by hand and use the threaded pull-out piece to screw onto the injectors. Adjust the torque wrench to 5 Nm. Attach the specialty tool and turn clockwise until the injector comes out. Replace injector if tightening torque exceeds 5 Nm. Once removed, a sealing cap should be affixed to both the fuel line connection and the injector tip. This can be obtained from the BMW dealer parts department.
