How to replace rear brake pads on BMW 328i?

This procedure applies to models with rear floating calipers only. On models with rear fixed (Brembo) calipers, the pad replacement procedure is different. Apply the parking brake, then loosen the rear wheel bolts. Raise the rear of the vehicle and support it securely on jackstands. Remove both rear wheels. The BMW 328i Brake Pads are three materials squeezed between the face of each rotor when you apply the pedal. This friction turns motion into heat, stopping the wheels and the car.
