Ensure wipers are parked with the stalk switch in the OFF position and the ignition is OFF. Use a fender cover to protect the windshield. To prevent damage to the
Wiper Arms and pivots, do not manually slide or force the wiper arms across the windshield. Begin by removing the wiper arms and the upper and lower cabin microfilter housings. On the right side of the cowl cover, detach the windshield washer hose, separate the washer jet electrical connectors, and remove the rubber seal. Using a plastic prying tool, start at the corner of the windshield and carefully peel the cowl cover off the retainer at the lower edge of the windshield. On the left side of the plenum chamber, remove the wiper motor assembly mounting screws and the left side plenum chamber bulkhead fasteners. If necessary, unbolt one end of the left strut tower cross brace for access to the rightmost bolt. Detach the wiper motor wiring harness from the bracket and remove the center plenum chamber bulkhead bolt to allow for the removal of the left plenum chamber bulkhead. Pull the wiper assembly out of the plenum chamber and detach the electrical connector. When installing the wiper assembly, check that rubber buffers A and B are intact and in place, and place the wiper assembly in the plenum chamber, ensuring buffer B fits in bracket C. When reinstalling the cowl cover, check that seals and grommets are intact and seated correctly to avoid water leaks into the cabin. Before reinstalling the wiper arms, ensure the wiper motor is in the PARK position and reset the
Wiper Blade positions and contact angle.
