Having access to the Oil Pressure Switch on a 6-cylinder engine is somehow wanting given that the intake manifold has been taken off. In the case of the V8 M62 TU engine, the Oil Pressure Switch is fitted at the bottom of the oil filter case. Turn the oil filter cap counter clockwise in order to release the pressure until it is possible to pull the oil filter cap to loosen it so as to allow oil to flow back to the
Oil Pan. Unplug the harness connector from the Oil Pressure Switch and pull out the switch noting the flow of oil with a shop towel. The area surrounding the Oil Pressure Switch must be cleaned extensively before the switch is removed. There again, removal of the oil filter housing cap is done by loosening it and checking the oil level and then replacing the oil if required.
