Remove shift knob per 250 Gearshift Linkage; for manual transmissions the shift boot may be rubber or leather depending on year, remove a rubber boot by releasing the rim at the bottom and remove a leather boot by grasping the material and pulling up to release tabs, taking care not to break retaining tabs; for automatic transmissions use a plastic prying tool to lift and remove the trim panel, lift off the switch panel near the shifter and disconnect any electrical connections; using a plastic prying tool lift the Center Console Base trim to pop off trim clips and disconnect electrical connections; remove the left side switch panel by unclipping it from trim before prying, reach beneath the front section of the switch inside the Center Console Base, depress the front latch mechanism at the approximate location and raise the panel, disconnect the electrical connector and remove; remove screws and lift off trim from clips, pry the trim panel off in the indicated direction and disconnect all electrical connections; remove the handbrake lever cover using a pry tool if necessary by pulling up at the arrows and cut cable ties underneath holding the cover to the lever; remove fasteners at the rear of the console and disconnect electrical connectors, release fasteners at the front of the console and disconnect electrical harnesses from the Center Console Base; raise the Center Console Base at the rear while feeding the parking brake lever boot through the opening, disconnect electrical connectors and remove the Center Console Base; for installation reverse removal and ensure the wiring harness is in the correct position, insert Center Console Base guides into the dashboard, connect electrical connectors, replace any damaged panel clips and install zip ties on the parking brake lever with eyelets facing down.
