On F-series chassis models, the front subframe must be lowered to allow the Sway Bar Kit to be removed. Block the rear wheels, apply the parking brake, then raise and support the front of the vehicle. Remove the engine under the shield and both front wheels. Unscrew the retaining nuts and free the connecting link from each end of the Sway Bar Kit. Make alignment marks between the mount bushings and the Sway Bar Kit, then loosen the Sway Bar Kit mounting clamp retaining nuts. Remove the nuts and clamps from the subframe, and maneuver the Sway Bar Kit out from underneath the vehicle. Remove the mount bushings from the bar. Carefully examine the Sway Bar Kit components for signs of wear, damage, or deterioration, and replace worn components as necessary. Install the rubber mount bushings to the Sway Bar Kit, aligning them with the marks made prior to removal. Maneuver the Sway Bar Kit into position and install the mounting clamps and new retaining nuts. Engage the Sway Bar Kit connecting links with the bar, ensuring correct location of the ball joint shank against the lugs on the bar. Install the new retaining nuts and tighten them. Install the brackets to the center of the Sway Bar Kit and tighten the bolts securely. Install the under-shield, then install the wheels and lower the vehicle to the ground. Tighten the wheel bolts to the specified torque.
