The stick shift has the reverse light attached to the transmission. The automatic gearboxes, on the other hand, have the reverse light switch on the neutral safety switch that is located within the gear selector trim cover. To do this, remove first the knob from a 3mm hex head fastener in the gear selector and then remove it. Thereafter, gently slip off console gear selector housing cover. After squeezing holding clips to detach connectors release neutral safety switch electrical connector. Then undo neutral safety switch securing screws. By moving around gear selector and raising switch up remove it when its slot aligns with pin of button fixture of gear selector assembly. For installation purposes match slot of housing with that of a switch. Before installing fixings for a transmission-like mechanism move gear lever to allow pins enter holes of the switches for this purpose; after having done so, install said fastenings in their places; mount coaming panels thereon; finally, put button back onto said pin- and hole-fitted part of gear change rod which completes mounting control unit's handle over shifter stalk's end piece by pressing it onto said rod correctly oriented with respect to said unit itself thereupon turn ignition key down before pushing button with one's thumb towards this end until rod is locked securely inside elongated cylinder part enclosed by frame while laying transaxle shifter cap above threaded shaft at which afterwards it must be secured as per norms by screwing said part into proper position.
